I will be designing and producing a website to promote the movie A Walk to Remember created in 2002 directed by Adam Shankman starring Shane West and Mandy Moore. The movie reflects the problems they face in their lives and how meeting one person can change your life forever. This website will provide an awareness to the clients about how to deal with problems you face in our lives and how to cope with loosing the person we love most and would do anything to save.
Opportunity
This movie reflects the problems surrounding a young person with cancer and the stereotyping and bullying that effects her life on a daily bases. People do not understand how these can affect someone who is ill and that because they are different than others.
Aim
By using the internet to address the issues of bulling and people being stereotyped we make the website more useful and accessible to the target audience of teenagers who are common users of the internet. I am making a website to promote the awareness of the movie a walk to remember that faces many issues which surround the lives of teenagers and also adults.
Considerations and Restrictions
Skills and Expertise:
· To use the Adobe Fireworks to edit images. On Adobe Fireworks you can crop and resize images, use the polygon lasso tool to cut out certain parts of an image.
· Use Photoshop to create my own images for the website and use images as a banner for the website.
· We need to use Dream Weaver to produce our website for others to view.
Time:
· We have approximately 30 or more weeks to complete the website. Finishing the blog is important but briefs are also to be considered into the time allocated.
· Time usage will be shown using a Gantt chart.
· The time allowance is not negotiable for this unit of work so we will need to use our time effectively by staying on task.
Other Considerations:
Equipment- The school will provide us with the computers that function properly. It has to be fast and have all the up to date software especially Adobe Photoshop. We also have been provided a broadband internet connection for making our blog quickly. We need to follow the correct procedures/rules to use the computers provided such as no eating in the computer lab.
Legal- To make sure that the information in the blog does not violate the copy rights act in New Zealand. To avoid infringing the copy right act we must make sure that the website does not contain any images or information that belongs to anybody else. One way to insure that this occurs is to use the programme on Flickr.com that are uploaded under the creative commons license.
Social- To make sure the website is relevant to the target market. People that would influence the decisions and choices of our websites are Mr. Rowley, other students, teachers, parents. We need their opinion of our websites as they are the kind of people that we want to be viewing our blog.
Cultural- We need to ensure that the website allows room for the school and other people’s cultural beliefs and have respect for human dignity while making the website.
